Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account (name, email) and when you set your travel preferences (vehicle type, interests, usual base). We also store your conversation history with our artificial intelligence to provide continuous, personalised itineraries.

When you plan trips in chat, the text you type — including starting places, themes and distance preferences — is stored in your conversation and processed by the AI like any other message. Minimise personal data that is not needed for planning.

We use your data solely to operate and improve RoteAI. The text of your trip planning requests is processed by artificial intelligence providers (such as OpenAI). We ensure that your personal data is not used by those providers to train public AI models.

For product improvement we may record aggregated usage events (for example which options were chosen in an inspiration assistant) without sending the full text of your messages to analytics tools.

Registered accounts: conversation and itinerary history are kept while your account exists, unless you exercise deletion rights or law requires otherwise.

Guests (no account): we minimise retention of free-text chat content for those threads after a long period (default 180 days) by replacing message bodies with a technical marker via the database function `redact_old_guest_chat_messages`, without deleting thread structure. This may be scheduled by our team on secure infrastructure.

RoteAI uses essential cookies to keep your session active. We also use affiliate links to monetise the platform. When you click a “Book” or “View tickets” button, you will be redirected to partner sites (e.g. Viator, GetYourGuide, campsite platforms).

Those partners may place a cookie in your browser to track where the booking came from and attribute commission to RoteAI. We encourage you to read those partners’ privacy policies; we do not control cookies they set.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties. We only share data with infrastructure providers essential to running the app (e.g. Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for hosting).

If you live in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights or request permanent deletion of your account and itinerary history, contact us through the support channels available on the platform.
